About Chop’s Teen Club

Chop’s Teen Club (Chop’s) is a prevention-based, nonprofit organization that is open after school and throughout the summer and winter breaks, to give Sonoma County teens enriching experiences and opportunities. Founded over twenty years ago through a legacy gift from Charles ‘Chop’ DeMeo, Chop’s 21,000-square-foot facility houses a College & Career Hub, Gymnasium, Rock-climbing Wall, Technology Lounge and Creative Media Lab, Art Studio, Music & Recording Studio, Café & Night Club, Commercial Teaching Kitchen, Rooftop Garden, and both indoor and outdoor multi-use spaces. Spaces are tailored to our program offerings, which are provided year-round for an annual membership of $75 per year (scholarships available to those who need them – no teen is ever turned away).

  • Mission Statement: The mission of Chop’s Teen Club is to provide a safe, fun and productive place where Sonoma County teens engage, connect and discover their true potential, and that has not changed as we adjust to today’s new normal.
  • History: Chop’s Teen Club was founded in 2001 through a legacy gift from Charles “Chop” DeMeo and continues to serve as a vital resource for Sonoma County teens.

How to Reference Chop’s Teen Club

To ensure consistency in our messaging and branding, please use the following guidelines when referring to our organization:

  • Correct: Chop’s Teen Club or Chop’s
  • Incorrect: CHOP’S Teen Club, CHOPS, CHOP’s, CHOP’S TEEN CLUB

Thank you for respecting these guidelines in all media and press communications.

Fun Fact: Chop’s is not an acronym, it is the nickname of our benefactor, Charles “Chop” DeMeo. When surveying the teens about what we should call this place, an overwhelming response was that we should name it after Chop, Chop’s Teen Club!
